The Faculty of Law Journal at AE-FUNAI is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, academic rigor, and ethical responsibility in scholarly publishing. The following policies outline our editorial approach and publishing principles.
🔍 Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure anonymity, fairness, and objectivity. Submissions are reviewed by at least two independent legal scholars with expertise in the subject area.
Review Process:
- Preliminary editorial assessment for relevance and format.
- Double-blind peer review by qualified reviewers.
- Evaluation based on originality, relevance, argument strength, clarity, and legal contribution.
- Final decision by the editorial board based on reviewers’ recommendations.
Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit based on reviewer feedback. Revisions must be returned within the stipulated timeframe to be considered for the current issue.
🌍 Open Access Policy
This journal practices a fully open-access model, ensuring that all published content is freely available to readers globally without subscription fees. Authors are not charged publication fees.
This policy reflects our commitment to the dissemination of knowledge and increased access to legal scholarship, especially within the Global South.
⚖️ Conflict of Interest Statement
Authors, editors, and reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the objectivity of the research, review, or publication process.
Examples of conflicts include:
- Financial interests or affiliations
- Personal relationships
- Professional rivalries
- Political or legal engagements related to the subject matter
Failure to disclose relevant conflicts may lead to manuscript rejection or retraction after publication.
📜 Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal a license to publish it. All articles are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which permits use, sharing, and adaptation for non-commercial purposes, with proper attribution.
🧪 Data Access and Reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to make underlying data, methodologies, or legal documents referenced in their articles accessible to readers where appropriate, ensuring transparency and reproducibility in legal research.
❌ Retraction and Correction Policy
In cases of proven academic misconduct, plagiarism, or significant errors, the journal reserves the right to:
- Retract published articles with a clear explanation.
- Issue corrections or editorial notes to rectify inaccuracies.
Retractions or corrections will be clearly marked and remain accessible in the online archive to maintain scholarly transparency.
